In celebration of its four and one-half billionth year in deep space and time, Gypsy Earth tipped her celestial axis in universal respect to another advancing spring season. But this was not to be. For the ninth time around, a brutal drought had caused our fragile blue planet to teeter on the brink of extinction. Mother Earthʼs life sustaining ele-ments had began to rapidly deplete. Between the sunʼs firery finish and dawnʼs desiccated skies, the ocean continued to crack its solemn waves upon ancient rocks and sands, rolling across blazing wind swept beaches.
At long last, the preceding season began to reverse its lethal trend, releasing a rare combination of balmy, rain-soaked nights fol-lowed by brilliantly lit, warm Indian Summer days. Coastal foothills and valleys burst forth from the parched earth in a stunning display of greens, reds, yellows, golds and rust. Rain-bows bridged the heavens and snow capped mountain ranges, reflecting beautiful prismat-ic colors upon a canvas of white crystalline diamonds. Free flowing rivers and streams gravitated effortlessly seaward, refreshing stagnant seaside lagoons desperate for new life. Bait fish gingerly jumped for joy and sea life flourished. The drought had finally relin- quished its bone-dry grasp. Once again, won-derful sea breezes released freshwater laden clouds above all the blue-green oceans, for-ever deep, forever wide.
Suddenly, upon one wild cathedral eve-ning, through a bombardment of torrential cloudbursts, a young woman prepared to give natural child birth to her first offspring. Just as the rolling of the thunder sounded and majestic bolts of light tore through the heavens above, a sudden release of new life drew its first breath on California Street in Huntington Beach. Cradled in her arms and flush with the marvelous picture of health, the new mother smiled, holding her home spun miracle in awe . “Itʼs a girl!” Jeannette rejoiced. “Sheʼs a
beautiful, healthy, happy girl! From this day forward her name will be Cori!” more…… [Via The Ocean Magazine]
